The Atlanta Hotel is housed in an impressive, traditional building with an ornate grey stone façade, which dates from 1895. The long, narrow lobby is attractively appointed with a tiled floor, dark wood panelling and a few sofas and armchairs. There is a much larger lounge – also wood panelled – on the first floor. The 59 guestrooms vary in size due to the age and nature of the building, but all have high ceilings. They are decorated in a pleasingly understated traditional style, with striped wallpaper, patterned rugs, wooden furniture and crisp white bed linen. All are clean and well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. The hotel offers a Continental buffet every morning in its elegant, spacious breakfast room. Overall, this property offers a high quality stay and a great location from which to do sightseeing on foot.
