Built, as it name suggests, in the traditional Biedermeier style (1815-1848), the Mercure Grand Biedermeier Hotel is a handsome property with attractive window boxes and an inner courtyard housing small boutiques. Though not too large, the lobby has a comfortable seating area and is enhanced by rosewood panelling and an attractive vaulted ceiling. Also featuring rosewood fittings, the 203 guestrooms, spread over 4 floors, are decorated in a stylish blend of pale greens and golds. All are clean and well maintained, as are the tiled en suite bathrooms, most of which have tub/shower combinations. The hotel has two restaurants and a bar in separate building along cobbled lane. The Weisgerberstube Restaurant is open most of the day serving local cuisine, while a more international menu is offered in the Wintergarten restaurant, which is open for lunch and dinner. The bar serves snacks and drinks until the early hours.
