Regina hotel

On arrival at Hotel was told that there was a confusion/computor system error with booking. Was not notified beforehand or given the opportunity to change booking. Was transferred to Hotel Royal. Location was good. Room was clean but due to problem with airconditioning felt like a sauna.

Top Tip

Hotel Royal: Excellent rooftop Italian restaurant. Views and food magnificent.

Very conveniately situated for visiting all the wonderful buildings in Vienna. We were given a smoking room but were changed to a non-smoking room very quickly on request.Staff very efficient and friendly.

Top Tip

Make sure you have good comfortable walking shoes.We covered many miles during our week-end stay.One "must do" trip is to take the bus to the Vienna woods a lovely ride with fantastic views over the Danube and Vienna when you reach the top.Take in an opera and a concert if you can, it was so enjoyable.Cafe Central with it's Pillars and super arches was a great place for coffee especially when the pianist was entertaining us.

The hotel is located within walking distance of the main shopping area and museums. Also an easy commute from the Airport. A total of 1 fast train (CAT) and 2 U Bahns. The hotel its self is well presented and the staffs were more than helpful. The food was brilliant as was the service. The room we had faced the main road and it was slightly noisy from road traffic and trams. The hotel was clean and tidy. In the room we had booked we had TV and internet connection. Though the net was extra. Overall the hotel and staff made our stay pleasant and welcoming.

Top Tip

Over Christmas the Chriostmas markets are a must. Also the Cathedrals are worth a visit especially the Stephansdom. During the summer remember The Lipizzaner horses and the Spanish Riding School of Vienna. And a definite must is to try the world famous a cake called the Sachertorte. Vienna is a city you must put on your to do list. You won’t regret it. There is so much to see and do.

I am sorry I have to say No to recommendation as the rooms were rather poor. The hotel boasts 4 Stars. The rooms were exceptionally small. We had two single rooms. Mine had a double bed so it was the size of a standard single room. My friend has one with a single bed. The width of the room was the single bed (against a wall) + about 3 feet. It was awful. Had we been staying more than two nights we would have left. I suffer from claustrophobia and had I been given that room I would not have survived. I travel a lot with my work and am used to varying standards in hotel, (I moved to the Regina from the Grand Hotel, Vienna), I can honestly say I have not seen a hotel room so small in all my years.

It doesn't have air conditioning, in summer rooms are very hot!

This hotel is good for the christmas market in vienna, very close
