Royal Vienna Hotel
The hotel has a superb location in the heart of Vienna, on the steps of St Stephen's Cathedral and next to the famous shopping street, the Graben. The closest underground station is Stephansplatz.

Royal Vienna Hotel
Standing on the site of a former pilgrim hostel from the early 16th century, the Royal Vienna hotel is housed in a dignified, 9-storey building with an unremarkable pale stone façade. The medium sized lobby is traditionally appointed with leather sofas and brightly coloured rugs. Its most impressive feature is the piano where Wagner composed Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. Also medium sized for the most part, the 81 guestrooms feature period furniture and are decorated in "Art Nouveau" and "Biedermeier" styles. All are clean and well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms, which have mosaic tiles, dual basins and heated towel rails. Located on the ground floor, the hotel's Italian restaurant, Firenze Enoteca, is favoured by residents and locals alike. In summer it also operates Settimo Cielo (Seventh Heaven), which offers rooftop dining beneath a glass-roof, accompanied by spectacular views of the Graben and St. Stephen's.

Hotel is fantastic in every way but would benefit if there was a lounge where one could enjoy a drink/coffee etc. Currently the bar is in the rooftop restaurant with approx 8 bar stools to sit on and the lounge/waiting area on the ground floor (no service available) In a high class shopping area walking distance to all the places you would want to visit and near a subway station (very efficient & clean)

Position wise it was excellent but sadly it lacked a comfortable lounge and bar.The Bedrooms were fine beds very comfortable and very quiet. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

Only problem we encountered is the smoking which is allowed unlike in the UK.
